5 Important Things Bloggers Do To Get Readership

Are you an Internet marketer? If yes, than you should own a blog. A blog will help you stay in touch with people who are interested in  what you have to offer as an internet marketer. However, getting interested people to your blog is easier said  than done. That’s why I would like to touch on 5 important things you as a blogger should be doing to get  readership and also how to keep this readership.

1.First Impression. When people come to your blog they expect to find something useful. Their main interest is not the ads you have displayed on your blog to make money off. They are there to find some kind of value. It doesn’t matter what you are writing about, whether it’s about beauty tips, weight loss or investments strategies, you got to make a good first impression when a new reader gets to your blog. Your blog should look professionally setup. First thing a reader will notice is if you blog look clean. What about the design? Do you have an eye-catching blog name or a possible logo? Is it easy to navigate and find something on your blog?

Make it easy for readers to spread the word. Have your RSS icon clearly visible on your sidebar so people can easily add you to their feeds. Make sure your posts have a Share option for every major social media site out there, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. With these available, it’s an easy task for your readers to spread your posts to their network.

2. Work together with other bloggers in your niche. Bloggers don’t have to be in competition with each other for readership. They can actually help each other by sharing information and linking with each others pages. You can gain an instant following if a blog leader of a particular niche does you the great favor of linking to your site. So make an effort to look for bloggers with the same interest as yours and start interacting with them. Comment on their pages, link to their sites, show the proper respect and appreciation, and you’ll find you’ll get the same right back.

3. Be Present on different social sites. Beside of Facebook there are many many other social media sites. Too mention a few, Google+, Digg, Twitter, LinkedIn,Stumble-upon, blog carnivals and much more. Create a fan Page or group on Facebook and if you can make videos, post them on Facebook and YouTube for maximum exposure and gain of traffic.

4. Optimize your blog with long tail keywords. Google’s keyword generator will help you a lot here. Keywords put you on the map of Google and Yahoo searches, but long-tail keywords will move you up to the front pages of searches by focusing on a particular group of people. True, this group will be smaller, but they will be the ones who’ll want to read your content! As such, going with the keyword “movie reviews” is not equal to “2011 sci-fi movie reviews”.

5. Write good content on a regular basis. After all, good content is what readers are looking for on your blog. If you can manage to be consistent in delivering this good content on a regular basis, they will surely return. Write in a way that is easy to understand and explain how they can apply the information you are sharing with them. If you can do that you will keep them interested to come again and again. Follow these suggestion and you will be on your way to enjoy great readership.

  1. Powerful Article, Wendell!

I love what you said in #2. It’s sad that so many Bloggers have a scarcity mindset and are afraid to work with other bloggers, share their content, comment on other blogs etc.

There is an Abundance of cash, leads etc in the world the more we give the more we will receive!

Thanks for sharing this amazing article, bro!

    To Your Infinite Success,

It’s said that so many Bloggers have a Scarcity Mindset and are afraid to connect with other Bloggers, share content, link to other blogs, comment on other blogs etc. Their is an Abundance of resources(money, leads and business) and the more value we give, the more we will get!!

    Thanks for sharing, brother!

    1. Marquel, Thanks for your input,
      Bloggers definitely would benefit
      more by working more closely

  3. Ditto to section #2 and the comment Marquell made. It is not just bloggers who live in a world that assumes scarcity. Blessed are the few who are tuned in to the abundant nature of the Universe. For myself, the point you raise in section #4 is something that i had not seen anywhere else and added a perspective I will look to understand better. For that, I Thank You… Keep on giving value in oder that you might recieve in multiples… prp

    1. Hi Peter, I appreciate your encouraging words.
      Thanks for commenting

  4. Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform
you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but
I’m having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
